Flax, also known as jute and flax, is divided into three categories: fiber, oil and fiber oil. They are all annual herbs. Flax fiber exists in the phloem tissue of hemp stem. After retting, soaking and degumming, part of the gum is removed to make the adhesive fiber bundle loose, and then processed into "beating hemp" by pressing, rolling and beating hemp, which is a process fiber composed of 10 ~ 20 single fibers. It is one of the main fiber raw materials for summer clothes because of its good moisture absorption, fast moisture transmission and relatively fine diameter. Usually, the cloth made of flax fiber is called flax fabric. After the fiber is harvested with flax, it is bundled into small handfuls for retting and degumming. The temperature of warm water retting hemp should be controlled between 28 ~ 32 ℃. After about 100 hours, remove the hemp rod into an umbrella and dry it in the open. Rain and dew retting is to spread the harvested hemp stems on the grassland or flax field, soak in rain and dew, and use mold fermentation retting. Under suitable humidity conditions, after 7 ~ 10 days, break the retted stem, remove the xylem and impurities, comb the fiber, and then grade it by quality. The short hemp knocked off is called two coarse hemp.
